PROJECT: RATHDRUM PRIMARY CARE CENTRE, PHARMACY & LIBRARY BUILDING, RATHDRUM, CO. WICKLOW
Working within a “live” busy town centre location, the project involved the demolition of existing semi-derelict blocks, refurbishment of 2 existing buildings, construction of a new 16,500sqft 2-storey HSE Primary Care Centre facility to provide a pulmonary rehabilitation service, chronic disease programme, GP consultation rooms, dental suite, physiotherapy suite, paediatric suite, occupational therapy suite, speech and language suite, psychology suite, healthcare offices, clinical nursing rooms, reception area, waiting areas, patient/visitor toilet and changing facilities, staff changing rooms, staff canteen, plant room and comms room.
The project also involved the construction of a new single storey public library, pharmacy and café building.
External works included 70 car parking spaces, accessible car parking, set-down area for emergency vehicles, access road, boundary treatments, retaining walls, extensive hard and soft landscaping, and all associated siteworks.
